Tuesday isn’t the popular bar night in any college town, but a few students left warm apartments and dorms for downtown Chadron. The woman here stayed outside to smoke and chat with me and a few other photographers for about 10 minutes, even though the temperature was under ten degrees.

While walking around downtown Chadron our first night of the trip, I saw this sign for the Steak House and I just had to photograph it. It shows one of the characteristics that I remember the most about Northwest Nebraska…the prevalence and serving size of the meat. I love the light reflecting off the brick wall and the primary colors with the yellow wall, blue lights, and red writing.
