Ray and Doreen Semroska find a moment of peace during our class’ descent upon their house. You can’t tell from the image, but at least five other photographers are sleepily chatting to the couple from chairs and a loveseat in the Semroska’s warm family room. Behind me, there is a glass-fronted gas heater, and the smell of fried chicken and potatoes carries from the kitchen.
